For the 2020 season, the Bowling Green Hot Rods joined the Copa de la Diversion initiative, which is a MILB wide program that helps teams embrace the culture and values of their local Hispanic/Latino communities. The program has teams create unique branding specific to their community, local outreach, and fun in game promotions that help promote these communities that have been such an important part of baseballs growth.

The Hot Rods looked to the direct translation for Hot Rods in Spanish for their Copa brand. A Bolido is more of a nickname given to cars that are built the same way as a hot rod. A bolido’s direct meaning actually means meteor or shooting star. These two elements, as well as the art culture of custom car paint jobs in the latino community, made for a unique and fun brand that added to the local Bowling Green latino community.
